List of scripts available to download
They are in English and available in ass format and ssa format.
For the ass format, the scripts are in their raw stage. This means that lines are not wrapped or positioned properly for viewing on TV, but they are timed correctly. You can make changes to the font or script if you don’t like what you see.
For the ssa format, these are ready to be used in MaestroSBT. You can load them and generate the subtitles if you want without making any changes. Everything has been set for the font in the scripts. They will look exactly like my DVDs just without the extra effects that I add in later with Muxman and Photoshop.
I have also provided links to the DVDs that I used when making these scripts.

This is a great site you have going here radkongo.
I remember coming across it ages ago while looking for solutions for sub flicker. I’ve only just found it again now and nice to see you have DVD subs available.
I see you mention you use Muxman and Photoshop for various effects. Could you perhaps explain further into this as I’m always looking for new methods I could incorporate into my own releases if suited.

I don’t do anything fancy with my subtitles. I’ve used upside-down text for a sign, two color outlines for my Moetan DVDs, and a few fade-outs for my Manabi Straight OVA. There’s nothing really special about these effects. If you’re interested, I’ll provide more details on them.
I’d certainly be interested in details on the fade in/out effect.
I know it’s done using the pro version of Muxman but I’ve never seen a decent guide explaining how to do it.
The guide for adding the fade effect at Muxman’s website has the all information you need. If you mean how to use Muxman along with Aegisub to create a smooth fade in or fade out on fansubbed DVDs, I can write a guide for the whole process. Here’s an example I made showing the fade effects in action.
Wow, that looks great radkongo, and I can certainly see that as an effect that would come in handy for certain releases.
If you don’t mind, would you be willing to do a guide explaining how to use in conjunction with Aegisub?

Hey, radkongo, I’m interested in the two-colour outlines. How is that achieved, if you don’t mind?
It’s done in a similar way as having two color text in MaestroSBT. Instead of the text having the second color, the outline will get it. You have to edit the bitmap and replace the outline color with an unused color in the palette. Also update the color mapping for that subtitle. That’s the quick summary of the process. It’s a lot of manual work.
Do you do the color mappings with DVDsubEdit? Also, I can never get the .ssa files to open in MaestroSBT.

Yes, I do the color mapping in DVDSubEdit. You can also edit the sst file with Notepad but that method is much harder. If you need a detailed guide for two color outlines, I’ll create one.
Are you sure you’re opening the ssa file? I can only get that error when I open an ass file in MaestroSBT.
Yeah, it’s the .ssa files. I tried opening the LB and WS files for both the extra and main episodes of Strike Witches volume 2 and that message comes up. I’m thinking it’s because I don’t have the font that you used.
And, yes, a detailed guide for the two-color outlines will be much appreciated. Even the advanced way with Notepad and the .sst file, too (I think it has something to do with editing this part of the file?

Are you using the ANSI or Unicode version of MaestroSBT? Try the Unicode version when opening the ssa files. If that doesn’t work, try this new script for volume 2 of Strike Witches.
Good catch. The Unicode version did it. I was using the ANSI version all along. I also found that if you opened the .ssa file in Aegisub and saved it, then it can be opened in the ANSI version.
I didn’t know you could have so many different default styles in MaestroSBT (one for song top, song bottom, etc.)? I thought it was one default for everything and you had to manually reposition every sub like I’ve been doing? Was that done in Aegisub or Maestro? Sorry if I’m asking too many questions, but that part surprised me.
I made all the styles in Aegisub. MaestroSBT can import almost all the parameters of a style from Aegisub. You can read more about setting up styles from the Aegisub Manual.
